SINGAPORE: A woman was caught vaping during a Jetstar flight from Singapore to Bangkok.
The incident, which took place on 10 January on Jetstar flight 3K515, was captured on video and uploaded to TikTok by Exploring Singapore, where it quickly gained attention.
In the video, smoke can be seen emanating from the woman, who was seated in an aisle seat.
The person recording the video then pans the camera to the airline’s in-flight magazine, flipping to a page that explicitly states that smoking and vaping are prohibited on all Jetstar flights.
Later in the clip, the woman is seen walking back to her seat after speaking with a cabin crew member.
The uploader questioned the security lapse, asking, “How did she get it through customs?”
Online Reactions
The video, which has garnered over 245,000 views, has sparked a range of reactions from netizens.
One user commented that vaping on a plane is crazy.
Another suggested that the woman should have at least tried to hide the puff.
One user expressed concern for health, saying that vaping could be dangerous for asthma patients and called for the woman to be fined.
Other users offered their opinions on the woman’s actions. One suggested that she might have been flying for the first time.
Another user advised the uploader to have informed the flight attendant, emphasising the dangers of bringing even a lighter on board.
The uploader replied that they did inform the flight attendant and that the crew member seemed more concerned about whether the video would be deleted than the actual incident.
