November 7: Geylang International were crowned the Centre of Excellence (COE) Under-17 league champions after they defeated Tampines Rovers 2-1 to clinch the youth championship at Our Tampines Hub (OTH) on Tuesday evening.
In a pulsating match where the young Eagles had to win to pip Balestier Khalsa for the title, it took a 95th minute strike by Oktu Poyraz to break the resilience of Tampines Rovers and seal victory in the drama-filled match in front of the passionate home crowd.
The young Eagles end their season, one point ahead of Balestier with 44 points from 21 games where they have 13 wins, five draws and three losses.
