SINGAPORE: A water pipe burst early in the morning of 25 November 2024 has disrupted homes and businesses in Clementi, particularly near Block 324 Clementi Avenue 5.
The incident occurred around the early hours, and Dr Tan Wu Meng, Member of Parliament for Jurong GRC visited the site at approximately 7.30 am to assess the situation.
In a Facebook post, Dr Tan confirmed that the burst water pipe had affected nearby homes and businesses, leading to a significant inconvenience.
Urgent repairs are underway, with assistance being provided to the affected residents.
The National Water Agency PUB, the Land Transport Authority (LTA), and the Jurong-Clementi Town Council are working together to resolve the issue, according to Dr Tan.
A video shared by Dr Tan depicted the outdoor walkway of the block covered in brownish water.
The MP advised residents who have been impacted to reach out to the Clementi Community Centre at 6776-1670 or email him directly at [email protected] for assistance.
This is the second water pipe issue in recent months, as Marine Parade also experienced flooding in early October 2024 following a water pipe rupture near Block 67 Marine Drive, which caused significant disruptions.
