Following months of debate, U.K. lawmakers approved plans to introduce medically assisted suicide for terminally ill patients in England and Wales.

But I would also say that there is no one more vulnerable than someone who is dying.” “If this bill is passed in its current form, people will lose their lives who do not need to, and they will be amongst the most vulnerable and marginalized in our society.” “I think that love and care is very lacking in this situation, and I just don’t think that we have — I think it’s just ridiculous to imagine that you can administer a death service without it being exploited in hideous and horrible ways.” “So I’m here supporting dignity for dying because not that long ago, I lost my auntie due to terminal illness, which was cancer, and it was very undignified the way that she died. She did want to go abroad to get the injections.”
