SINGAPORE: Two people were hospitalised following a chain collision involving seven vehicles on the Tampines Expressway (TPE) on Wednesday morning (16 April).
The accident occurred after the Punggol Road exit, in the direction of the Seletar Expressway (SLE).
The police said they were alerted at around 11.05am to the incident, which involved a taxi, two cars, and four trucks.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that two individuals — a 59-year-old male taxi driver and a 31-year-old woman — were taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
Both were conscious at the time they were conveyed to hospital.
Another person, who was assessed for minor injuries at the scene, declined to be taken to hospital.
Images of the aftermath, shared on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook group on 17 April, show a red TransCab taxi and a white car sandwiched between two trucks.
The taxi was seen perched precariously on top of the car.
The white car’s bonnet was severely damaged and partially dislodged, while the taxi’s boot and left rear door appeared crumpled.
Police investigations are ongoing.
