Free regular bus services were deployed from Sengkang Bus Interchange and nearby bus stops. Free bridging buses were also activated, with commuters advised to follow directional signs to boarding points.

The transport operator issued an apology in a Facebook post at 8.55am, acknowledging the inconvenience caused.

Several commuters expressed disappointment online, noting the disruption was the second this week.

Some criticised delayed and unclear announcements. One commuter recounted waiting over five minutes before hearing an announcement in the station, not on board, making it difficult to hear.

Another questioned the absence of an official response from the Land Transport Authority (LTA), calling for greater transparency on the technical issues.

This breakdown comes three days after a major disruption affected both the Sengkang-Punggol LRT and the North-East Line.

Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow had described the spate of disruptions as “disappointing” after earlier outages on the East-West Line, Thomson-East Coast Line, and Bukit Panjang LRT.
