This incident follows other recent disruptions on the MRT network.

Earlier, on 16 April, a platform screen door fell onto the track at Braddell MRT station, temporarily affecting north-bound service. SMRT advised commuters to factor in an additional 15 minutes of travel time. Normal service resumed by 12.40pm following recovery works.

On 4 April, a track fault disrupted west-bound East-West Line services between Jurong East and Clementi stations. Repair efforts were delayed by adverse weather conditions, but train services resumed after 4pm following a three-hour disruption.
