TikTok has taken its role as a global music launchpad to new heights with the debut of its first-ever TikTok for Songwriters regional showcase in Asia. Held at All That Matters in Singapore, the initiative celebrates the creators behind today’s viral hits, spotlighting the songwriting talent that fuels the platform’s billion-strong audience.

A New Stage for Songwriters
Building on its beta launch of TikTok Songwriter Features, the platform is giving creators the spotlight they deserve through new tools designed to highlight and credit songwriters for their work. Key features include:
- Songwriter Account Label: A new profile identifier showcasing verified songwriters.
- Songwriter Music Tab: A dedicated space highlighting the tracks they’ve written or co-written.
The beta is rolling out across Asia to a select group of songwriters, including Ilman Ibrahim (@ilmanibrahim) and Jae Chong (@iamjaechong). Songwriters and publishers can join the waitlist to be part of this exclusive test phase.
Celebrating Music and Creative Voices

To mark the launch, the showcase opened with an exclusive panel featuring industry powerhouses. British hitmaker RuthAnne, best known for penning hits for Britney Spears and One Direction, joined Singaporean breakout star Regina Song (@sleepyreggy), whose single the cutest pair has surpassed 50 million streams. Together, they pulled back the curtain on their songwriting journeys in a special #BehindTheSong panel, reflecting on how TikTok has become a key platform for creators to connect with fans and build their careers.
Throughout the week, TikTok hosted a series of programmes designed to inspire and empower music creators:
- Music Matters LIVE: A live performance by RuthAnne, showcasing her chart-topping hits.
- TikTok Music Academy: A hands-on workshop led by Emily Mitchell, Music Publishing Partnerships Manager at TikTok.
- Fireside Chat: An intimate conversation on RuthAnne’s songwriting process and creative influences.
Amplifying Asian Voices
The platform also expanded its popular #BehindTheSong campaign in Thailand, featuring local songwriters like Bonnadol (@bonnadol), NOT’TOY (@nottoy1995), and วสันต์17 (@wasonwasan17), giving fans an authentic look at the stories behind their favorite tracks. Since its global debut in 2023, the campaign has drawn in big names like Fraser T. Smith, Kamille, FINNEAS, and Nile Rodgers, turning the hashtag into a gateway to the creative process.
