If convicted, they face the death penalty or life imprisonment.

Should the death sentence be avoided, the men face a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane.

The Singaporeans were represented by defence lawyer Ille Maryam Yusnawannie.

The Malaysian accused, Kong, had no legal counsel, according to Bernama.

The next hearing is scheduled for 8 September.

Federal police Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department acting director Mat Zani @ Mohd Salahuddin Che Ali stated that the syndicate had rented luxury condominiums for packing the cocaine vape pods.

Authorities believe the operation, intended for international distribution, had been active since March 2024.
