Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is seeking public input on proposed changes to the Emergency Decree BE 2561 (2018) on Digital Asset Businesses.
These changes aim to update the decree to better reflect current market conditions and improve the efficiency of the regulation. The aim is also to increase investor confidence in digital assets.
This review is required by the Law on Legislation and Evaluation of Law BE 2562 (2019), which mandates routine evaluations of laws.
The SEC is holding this public hearing to address issues and challenges related to the current decree and related regulations. The opinions will help to ensure that the decree is necessary, consistent and effectively implemented.
The consultation paper is available on the website SEC website and central legal site. Interested parties are encouraged to submit comments by July 22, 2024 through the SEC website or by email to pinyapat@sec.or.th or dpsec@sec.or.th.
