Sony has officially revealed its next gaming console: Playstation 5 Pro.
during PS5 Pro Technical ShowcasePS5 chief architect Mark Cerny has revealed details of the enhanced PlayStation 5, which is designed to deliver the high frame rates and stunning visuals that gamers crave. Visually, the PS5 Pro looks almost identical to the base model, but with three lines running down its side instead of the single line found on the PS5.
Sony has shown off the PS5 Pro's prowess with a range of games that boast improved visuals, including Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Gran Turismo 7and Hogwarts LegacyAccording to a post on Playstation Blog By Hideaki Nishino, CEO, Platform Business Group, Sony Interactive Entertainment, PS5 Pro features:
- GPU Upgraded: With a GPU with 67% more compute units and 28% faster memory, gamers can expect up to 45% faster rendering for a smoother gaming experience.
- Advanced ray tracing: Enhanced ray tracing delivers dynamic light reflection and refraction at double, and sometimes triple, the speeds of native PS5.
- AI-based advancement: Known as PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), this AI-powered technology delivers sharp image clarity and stunning detail to enhance resolution effects.
PS5 Pro is selling for $699.99 / £699.99 / €799.99 / JPY119,980Making it a great upgrade for those looking to take their gaming experience to the next level. The PS5 Pro will come with a 2TB SSD, a DualSense wireless controller, and a copy of the Astro playroom It will come pre-installed with every PS5 Pro purchase. Additionally, it will also be available as a disc-free console, with the option to purchase the disc drive currently available for PS5 separately.
The PS5 Pro will be released on November 7, 2024with pre-orders starting September 26, 2024.
