Thai police are seeking a 32-year-old Singaporean man following the discovery of his Thai girlfriend’s body at a condominium in Bangkok’s Watthana district.
The woman, identified as 30-year-old Praopilat Paladon from Khon Kaen province, was found dead in her bathroom on the 22nd floor of a building on Sukhumvit Soi 39 on Wednesday, 26 March 2025.
Two of her friends approached Thong Lor police on Wednesday after losing contact with her since Monday evening.
They had earlier filed a report and, concerned for her safety, visited the condominium with a copy of their complaint.
Upon arriving at Praopilat’s unit at 6pm, they found the door unlocked and the air-conditioner still running.
Inside, they discovered her body partially unclothed and wrapped in a blanket and blood-stained bedsheet. Her head was also wrapped in bloodied cloth.
Thai authorities confirmed there were visible signs of violence at the scene.
According to the Bangkok Post, the victim had allegedly been in a troubled relationship with her Singaporean boyfriend, often reporting arguments and violence.
CCTV footage from the building shows the couple leaving together via an elevator at 6.42pm on Sunday, 23 March.
Later the same night, at 9.17pm, the man is seen returning with Praopilat to her unit.
CCTV footage also captured him re-entering the building alone at 12.12am on Monday.
The final footage shows him exiting the woman’s room with luggage at 3.15pm on Tuesday, 25 March.
Just two minutes later, he left the condominium in a black Mercedes-Benz sedan.
Investigators found that the vehicle is registered to a deceased Thai man, raising further questions.
Police have not yet named the Singaporean man but confirmed that efforts are underway to track him down.
A spokesperson from Thong Lor Police Station said the investigation is ongoing and declined to comment on any specific findings related to the cause of death or motive.
Authorities are working with immigration and international agencies to monitor potential exit routes used by the suspect.
The Singapore Embassy in Thailand has not issued a public statement regarding the matter.
No arrest warrant has been issued yet as the case remains under investigation, and forensic teams are examining evidence from the scene.
Neighbours in the building reported no disturbances on the night of the incident, and police are reviewing additional CCTV footage and conducting interviews.
Praopilat’s friends stated she had previously discussed incidents of physical abuse but had not officially reported them.
