The Singapore Writers Festival (SWF) returns for its 28th edition from 7 to 16 November 2025, inviting audiences to dream boldly, question freely, and imagine the future through the lens of literature. Organised by Arts House Group, this year’s theme, Shape of Things to Come, charts stories of tomorrow while celebrating the power of words to connect, challenge, and inspire.
A Festival of Ideas and Imagination
Featuring over 200 programmes and more than 300 local and international presenters, SWF 2025 brings together voices from across genres and disciplines. Festival favourites like SWF Playground, SEA xChange, Youth Fringe, SWF Classroom, and SWF In Conjunction return, alongside new tracks SG60 Homage and Sci-Fi Spotlight. These programmes promise fresh perspectives, cultural exchange, and collaborations designed to spark dialogue about the future we are shaping.
Headline Authors and Visionary Voices
This year’s lineup features acclaimed international authors including R.F. Kuang, Fuchsia Dunlop, Sathnam Sanghera, Victoria Chang, and Raymond Antrobus, each responding to the Festival’s theme with their unique perspectives. Science fiction takes centre stage with Hao Jingfang and Ken Liu, who will headline the Sci-Fi Spotlight with boundary-pushing stories that reimagine the worlds yet to come.
