SINGAPORE, 22 OCTOBER 2024 – Excitement is brewing in the Singapore Under-17 Men’s National Team camp as they gear up for the upcoming Asian Football Confederation Under-17 (AFC U17) Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2025 Qualifiers, where 43 nations and some of Asia’s brightest young talents will battle it out for a place in the Finals.
Drawn in a tough Group J, the opener will see 2018 runners-up Tajikistan take on Guam at 5pm on Wednesday (23 October), before Singapore face two-time champions Oman at 8pm.
The second matchday will kick off on Friday (25 October), with Guam and Oman kicking off proceedings at 5pm, followed by the clash between Tajikistan and Singapore at 8pm.
Group J will wrap up on Sunday (27 October) with Tajikistan taking on Oman at 5pm and Singapore battling it out against Guam at 8pm.
With only the 10 group winners and the five best-placed runners-up advancing to the Finals, Coach Toledano has called on his side to be competitive in the upcoming games.
“The past two weeks have helped the team to gel and be together, and now we are much more ready to compete and put up a fight against every team in the group. We will adapt our game model and playing style according to our opponents to get results,” he said.

Singapore U17 Vice-Captain Harith Danish remains upbeat about his side’s chances for the Qualifiers, stating: “I think every nation wants to qualify, and for us, we want to ensure that we put up good performances and have everyone give their 100% for the country. The side is very different now as our players have regrouped and our momentum is building.”
Every major tournament brings about a significant amount of pressure especially in front of an expectant home crowd, but Harith is unfazed.
“We have to embrace and enjoy the pressure. Most importantly, we need to focus on what is happening on the pitch and play our game,” he said.
