Singapore will host Group E of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-17 Women’s Asian Cup™ China 2026 Qualifiers in a centralised round-robin format.
The matches will take place from 13 to 17 October 2025, at the Bishan Stadium, with Singapore facing Northern Mariana Islands on 15 October and Australia on 17 October as they vie for a place in the continental Finals.
The Singapore U17 girls are going into these qualifiers on the back of an intensive year of competition.
They impressed with a second-place finish at the inaugural girl’s edition of the Lion City Cup 2025, showcasing their potential to perform on the big stage. The team also featured in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Under-16 Women’s Championship, where they gained valuable lessons and experience that have shaped their development.
Head Coach Matias Martinez drew inspiration from progress that he has witnessed in the team, and also on an individual level.
“Our expectation going into the qualifiers is not just about results. Of course, we want to challenge ourselves to compete at the highest level, but we also want to demonstrate our progress as a team and showcase the identity we are building together,” he said.
“We want to make our country proud by playing with courage, discipline, and unity.”
The eight group winners from the qualifiers will advance to join Asia’s elite in the Finals alongside DPR Korea, Japan, Korea Republic, and hosts China PR, who have automatically qualified.
