Singapore’s Under-16 Boys’ and Under-16 Girls’ squads for the Lion City Cup 2025, set to take place from 8 to 13 July 2025, have been finalised. The selections mark the final phase of preparation as both teams get set to take on regional opponents on home soil.
The boys will be captained by Zaki Jumlan, with Tyan Foong leading the girls. Head coach of the boy’s squad Ashraf Ariffin and his counterpart Yeong Sheau Shyan have selected squads that blend talent, versatility, and potential. Several players from the National Development Centre (NDC) have been included, underlining Singapore’s growing youth pipeline.
“We’ve selected players who not only perform well technically but also carry the right mindset,” said Ashraf. “This is a great opportunity for them to test themselves in a competitive environment.”
“Having our girls participate in the Lion City Cup for the first time is a positive development,” added Sheau Shyan. “It will provide valuable experience for the players and support the continued growth of women’s football in Singapore.”
The squads will convene this week for centralised training, with final preparations underway ahead of their respective assignments.
