Brilliant Angjaya, a 23-year-old Indonesian, was sentenced to three weeks in jail on 24 March after pleading guilty to sexual exposure.

The incident happened on 23 January 2025 during a flight from China to Singapore.

After having two glasses of champagne, Angjaya fell asleep.

When he woke up, he went to the lavatory and suddenly decided to film himself exposing his genitals to someone.

He returned to his seat, set his phone to record, unzipped his jeans, and exposed himself.

At around 4:45 AM, an air stewardess approached to serve his in-flight meal.

She was shocked to see his indecent act, quickly placed his meal on the tray table, and walked away.

She also noticed his phone camera pointed at her and reported the incident to her supervisor.

When questioned, Angjaya initially denied recording anything but later handed over his phone.

The supervisor found footage of the incident and alerted the police before landing at 6:45 AM.

Angjaya was arrested upon arrival.

Prosecutors pushed for a harsher sentence, citing his intoxication, the crime occurring on a plane, and the impact on a public transport worker.

The judge rejected the defense’s claim that it was a “highly inappropriate prank” and called the act “perverse.”

Angjaya later apologised to the victim in a letter and admitted his actions were unjustifiable.

After sentencing, he was allowed to call his father in Indonesia.
