The Society of Interior Designers Singapore (SIDS) is set to bring back its annual design festival with a bigger, bolder edition: SIDFest 2025, happening from 15 September to 4 October 2025. Supported by the DesignSingapore Council (Dsg) and part of Singapore Design Week 2025, this year’s festival explores the theme “Design in Dialogue: The Collaborative Convergence”.

Now in its fifth edition, SIDFest 2025 expands its programming with three core pillars: the flagship SIDS Design Convention, a series of Design Symposiums, and an Overseas Mission Design Exchange Expedition (DEX). Together, these platforms aim to empower design professionals and students to navigate industry shifts, embrace technological innovation, and bridge the gap between education, practice, and global opportunities.

Flagship Convention: Expanding Beyond Borders
The SIDS Design Convention (17 September, National Gallery Singapore) will focus on global expansion strategies for design businesses. International leaders including Clint Nagata (Blink Design Group), Tulsi Grover (re.vorG), Sabine Beck (Hirsch Bedner Associates 2), and Andy Fisher (Andy Fisher Workshop) will share insights on branding, scaling sustainably, and building a global presence.

Design Symposium Series: Innovation Meets Practice
The symposium line-up offers deep dives into the most urgent conversations shaping interior design:
- FIND x SIDFest 2025 (13 Sep, Sands Expo & Convention Centre): Exploring how design education can better align with real-world practice.
- Smart Interiors (19 Sep, Lixil Experience Centre): Harnessing smart lighting, automation, and AI for responsive spaces.
- Designing for Well-being (22 Sep, Daikin Auditorium): Creating inclusive, biophilic, and wellness-focused environments.
- Emerging Technologies (24 Sep, Admira Showroom): Examining how generative AI, real-time rendering, and digital tools are reshaping the profession.
Global Perspectives: Design Exchange Expedition
The festival closes with DEX Bangkok (1–4 October 2025), an immersive overseas mission designed to connect delegates with Thailand’s vibrant design scene, fostering cross-cultural collaboration and unlocking new market insights.
