shut . Audio on the go. The goal is to combine compact size, durability, and professional sound in a pocket-friendly design. One of its features is dual-channel recording, so you can record with two microphones on the go and edit them separately!

Design and audio performance

Box 2

The MoveMic is probably the smallest portable microphone out there. At just 8.2g per microphone, it's virtually weightless, and its dimensions (46mm x 22mm) make it nearly invisible in recordings unlike the larger DJI or Hollyland. The MoveMic comes in either a single-microphone (MoveMic) or two-microphone (MoveMic 2) package, both with their own charging case.

An IPX4 splash-proof rating means it can handle the occasional mishap, from unexpected rain to accidental spills. The microphones are stored in a charging case that supports up to 24 hours of recording, which equates to a full day of creative output without access to a USB-C cable.

How to use

The microphones charge in their own charging cases similar to the AirPods: simply connect them to a power source using the USB-C cable included in the case.

Box 3

To connect it to your phone wirelessly, you'll first have to download Shure's MOTIV Audio app (iOS and Android). The first time you use the MOTIV app, you'll need to allow access to the device's microphone. To pair the microphone with the app, press and hold the microphone button — there's only one, and it's for power, Bluetooth pairing, and mute — for about 6 seconds until you see the lights flash.

Step 1: For first-time pairing, you may need to go to the Device icon (it looks like a wrench at the top right) to start pairing. At the bottom of the app there are 4 options: Device, History, Library, and Settings – which are very handy. The device is linked to the microphones, so here you can pair devices as well as adjust all the audio presets.

Step 2: Once paired, the app actually has nifty functionality where you can adjust gain levels, create a custom EQ, adjust file compression, configure the output (AAC, FLAC and WAV) and – our favorite – reduce background noise. There are also speech, music, and flat presets ready to use in the app. The upside is that once you pair it, you won't have to re-pair it while shooting or the next time you use the app.

Box 4

Step 3: Go to Record to record audio – You will be able to see the sound waves while recording audio. While recording, it is recommended to use a wired headphone connected to your phone so that you can hear the audio being recorded. Once you have finished recording, click “Save” at the top and you will be asked to save your recording.

Step 4: Go to the Library section, where your file will be. There's a play button where you can listen to your recording – and even an easy-to-use editing tool where you can trim it. You can then share the file via several methods, including Airdrop, and then drop it into your video editing tool.

Overall feedback

Excess: The Shure MoveMic delivers high-quality sound that rivals larger, more complex systems in a form factor designed for today's fast-paced tempo. Creative people. Its ability to isolate sounds from ambient noise is particularly impressive. The microphone has amazing audio sensitivity: voice recordings work best at 22-28 dB, and if you move it up to 60 dB, the microphone is like a legitimate hearing device that picks up the roar of instruments half a kilometer away.

For those who like to customize the sound while recording, the Shure MOTIV app offers powerful equalizer, noise suppression, and compression options. Live streamers will appreciate the direct integration with platforms like Facebook and YouTube.

For those who film a lot of interviews, two-channel recording is useful in cases where the two speakers need equal representation.

Landing: You need to use the app to be able to use the MoveMic, which can be a bit annoying. The 30 meter range may seem limited for larger productions, but it's perfect for the TikTok generation and independent filmmakers.

One annoying point is the firmware upgrade: to do this, you will need to download last The application, this time on Desktop/Laptop Since you have to connect the charging case to your desktop.

Verdict: While the system may not replace studio setups for demanding professionals, it represents an upgrade for mobile creatives who need high-quality sound wherever they go. Compared to its competitors like DJI, it is not the cheapest, but for the functions it offers and the sound quality, it is worth the investment.
