The award-winning action game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is set for a stunning rebirth, this time as an anime. Announced at Gamescom 2025’s Opening Night Live, Kadokawa, Crunchyroll, Qzil.la, and ARCH revealed Sekiro: No Defeat, a fully hand-drawn adaptation that will bring FromSoftware’s critically acclaimed tale to life in an entirely new way. The series will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll starting 2026, available worldwide except in Japan, China, Korea, Russia, and Belarus.
Sekiro: No Defeat stays true to the game’s unforgettable narrative, a visceral story of loyalty, blood, and destiny set against a fantastical reimagining of Sengoku-era Japan.
The anime boasts a powerhouse creative team, including director Kenichi Kutsuna, screenwriter Takuya Satou, and character designer Takahiro Kishida. Key visual artistry will be driven by Yuji Kaneko (Art Director) and Azusa Sasaki (Color Designer), while Shuta Hasunuma scores the series. Produced by ARCH and animated by Qzil.la, the series promises to capture both the intensity of combat and the emotional depth that made the game iconic.
The voice cast features Daisuke Namikawa as the Wolf, Miyuki Satou as Kuro (The Divine Heir), and Kenjiro Tsuda as Genichiro Ashina.
