Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and Qualcomm Adreno 830 GPU, the phone promises a best-in-class experience built on incredible speeds, dedicated mobile gaming features, and enhanced cooling capabilities. It inherits the brightness of the AniMe Vision Mini-LED from before, which boasts 648 dots (up from 341) allowing for greater customization.
The aesthetic glory extends to the technology display as well. The ROG Phone 9 Pro features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 with a maximum refresh rate of 185Hz, and is only accessible via the Game Genie app. Previously, the maximum was 165Hz, although it should be noted that most games will not be able to run at such high numbers.
In usual fashion, the device passed the gaming challenge with flying colours. Zenlis zero area, Genshin Impact, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile and PUBG Mobile Super smooth performance with no frame rate drop, making it fun on the go. Thermal management won't be an issue either, as the GameCool 9's cooling system maintains temperatures below 40°C, even under duress.
