[Review] Celebrate Christmas 2025 with Swensen’s Indulgent New Feast of Sweet and Savory Delights

Swensen’s is ushering in the holiday season with an extensive new Christmas menu for both dine-in and takeaway, available from 10 November 2025 to 5 January 2026.

From indulgent ice cream cakes and festive sundaes to hearty roasts and comforting mains, the beloved family restaurant chain promises something for every table this season. We were invited for a dinner tasting last week and enjoyed some of the menu highlights, featuring both sweet and savoury delights.

Festive Sundaes

Exclusive to dine-in guests, three new festive sundaes debut this year:

Banana Split Nachos ($13.80): A fun, lighter take on the classic using Swensen’s Vanilla Zer0, Sticky Chewy Chocolate Zer0, and Strawberry ice creams. None of the ingredients are skimped out on, so you get an ample amount of banana and cream in every bite.

While the word nachos may put you off for a dessert item, rest assured as they are not using the kind of Mexican triangular nachos you may be thinking of, but instead pieces of crushed ice cream cones to add texture to this otherwise creamy dessert. I felt like this dessert was lighter than the usual Swensen’s desserts (excluding the giant pile of cream and chocolate syrup) and the banana and ice cream just felt satisfying.

Pistachio Kunafa Tree ($12.80): A Middle Eastern-inspired dessert layering Pistachio ice cream with crispy filo pastry.

Although in a smaller portion, this sweet pistachio treat is still sure to delight, bringing a nutty finish to your meal.

Cookies de la Crème ($10.80): A decadent ode to cookie lovers with Cookies ’N’ Cream ice cream, Oreo crumbles, and rich sauce.

Sadly, we did not have enough stomach space to eat a third ice cream sundae, but it looks great and would seem to be a beautiful creamy delight packed with Oreo flavour.

Dine-In Christmas Specials

Festive dine-in mains include:

Crayfish Linguine ($18.90): Golden fried crayfish over linguine in creamy tomato-rose sauce.

The pasta was chewy and quite well cooked, while the sauce was filled with tomato flavour and a tang of spice. These go well with the crayfish and is a satisfying comfort dish overall.

Trio Poultry Platter ($41.90) This array of meats was heavy, and is most definitely meant to be shared. Scattered across the board are sausages, fried cutlets, pieces of meat, tomato, corn, cucumber, legs of meat, fries, and more meat.

The sauces at the side are a must-have as it takes away some of the burden on your taste buds eating all that meat could bring. The cutlet is well fried and crispy, the tomatoes are big and juicy, and the leg of meat is personally my favourite piece of meat on this tray, the more tender piece in the group.

Creamy Tomato Seafood Stew ($55.90) A huge load of seafood that will please seafood lovers. Clams, prawns, other shellfish, and more tomato, all in this one giant plate.

Perfect for sharing, as there’s plenty more tomato doused shellfish to go around, with some pieces of crab scattered along the way. Kind of messy, but enjoyable.

Beef Lasagna ($35.90) My personal favourite, although it may be my own bias towards lasagna. Tomato seems to be a recurring theme in these few dishes, as this lasagna too sees no lack of it, with a layer of tomato sauce coating the bottom.

Swensen’s festive catalogue offers a mix of roasts, platters, and comforting dishes, available for pre-order from now until 29 December 2025, with collection and delivery from 15 November 2025 to 1 January 2026.

• Roulade Leg of Lamb ($118, 1.2kg): Slow-roasted lamb layered with chicken chorizo and black olives, finished with a golden almond crust.
• Trio Poultry Platter ($45): Featuring duck confit, katsu chicken, and chicken bratwurst sausage served with vegetables and sauces.
• Creamy Tomato Seafood Stew ($59): A hearty seafood medley in a tomato-cream broth, perfect with Swensen’s new Garlic Baguette ($9.90).
• Yuletide Wings ($31.90): 14 pieces of crispy wings and drumlets with hickory BBQ sauce.
• Shepherd’s Pie ($33.90) and Honey Roasted Vegetables ($24.90) complete the spread.

Festive Ice Cream Cakes

Swensen’s introduces three new handcrafted creations for 2025:

• Noir Forest ($51, 500g): An elevated take on the classic Black Forest, combining dark chocolate and tart berries with a luxurious gold finish.
• Halo Christmas ($59, 600g): A halo-shaped dessert of Raspberry and White Chocolate ice creams, layered with white chocolate praline and topped with raspberries and golden crumbles.
• Sticky Chewy Chocolate Zer0 Log ($66, 800g): A guilt-free version of Swensen’s iconic flavour, made with zero-sugar-added chocolate ice cream and just 100 calories per slice.
