New to MCF 2024: “Navigating Piety: Customs and Practices for the Afterlife” Exhibition

The festival’s new exhibition, “Navigating Piety,” will take center stage at Kreta Ayer Square, showcasing the end-of-life practices of Singapore’s Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, and Christian communities. With artefacts contributed by organizations such as Ang Chin Moh Foundation, Khailaash Funeral Services, and Singapore Muslim Casket, visitors can explore the artistry and traditions tied to age, marital status, and dialect, revealing the emotions and beliefs rooted in these practices.

MCF 2024 also offers exclusive behind-the-scenes tours to restricted locations like the Jewish Cemetery and hospital units, where visitors can engage directly with caretakers, hospice workers, and palliative care providers. Festival-goers can hear firsthand accounts from professionals, including pet cremation experts from Sanctuary Pet Cremation and perinatal palliative care teams from Alexandra Hospital, as they share emotional stories and impactful experiences.
