SINGAPORE, 23 MAY 2024 – The head coach of Singapore’s National “A” Team, Tsutomu Ogura, has announced his 27-man squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 Round 2 qualifiers against Korea Republic at the Singapore National Stadium on 6 June 2024 and Thailand at the Rajamangala Stadium on 11 June 2024.

Coach Ogura and his coaching team have paid close attention to the performances of players in their respective clubs over the past two months and decided to hand a first senior call-up to Jordan Emaviwe, the towering Balestier Khalsa centre-back who has been impressing in the Singapore Premier League.

In addition, he also handed recalls to Young Lions’ Nur Adam Abdullah and Farhan Zulkifli, BG Tampines Rovers’ Taufik Suparno and Amirul Adli, Geylang International’s Joshua Pereira and Hairul Syirhan, as well as Christopher Van Huizen and Hami Syahin from Lion City Sailors.

Said Ogura: “I’ve made the decision to put together the best squad for these two matches, which are tough ones against two very good teams. Players not selected for this window are still very important to the national team, as I base each squad on the challenges we face in that particular window. I expect to give Korea Republic and Thailand a tough fight, and to continue the progress we have been making since the China games.”

The team will commence centralised training on 27 May 2024 while the overseas-based players will join the training later in the week.

A limited number of tickets for the home match against South Korea on June 6 are available now on the Ticketek platform.
