SINGAPORE: A massive traffic jam occurred on the Seletar Expressway (SLE) towards the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) following a five-vehicle accident involving a tipper truck, a van, a motorcycle, a lorry, and a car.
The incident took place at 9:45 am on 24 January.
Photos and videos circulating on social media showed significant congestion and several damaged vehicles on the expressway.
The aftermath of the crash also saw several ambulances at the scene.
At one point, all lanes appeared to be blocked, further exacerbating the traffic situation.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that a total of five people were conveyed to the hospital.
The individuals involved were a 29-year-old male motorcyclist, a 65-year-old male car driver, a 62-year-old male van driver, and two passengers from the lorry, aged 41 and 49.
All were conscious and were taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for treatment.
Police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
