Sailors seek another win against determined Geylang side
Friday, 20 February | 7.45pm | Choa Chu Kang Stadium

Box 3

Lion City Sailors will be looking to maintain their strong start to the 2026 WPL when they take on third-placed Geylang International on Friday, 20 February, 7.45pm at Choa Chu Kang Stadium. The second-placed Sailors have been in formidable form, scoring 41 goals in four matches, and they hold an edge over the Eagles from last season, having picked up a win and a draw.

Box 4

The rivalry between the two sides is far from one-sided. Geylang famously ended the Sailors’ 37-match unbeaten run in 2024, and the Sailors now feature former Geylang players who know the opposition well. Forward Farah Nurzahirah has scored in every match this season, while goalkeeper Alysha Nasrina, who made key saves in that historic win, kept her first clean sheet for the Sailors in last week’s 12-0 victory over BG Tampines Rovers.

Geylang, coming off a break, remain a dangerous side. Former Sailors Girls Academy graduate Naureen Qadriyah has scored back-to-back braces, and club captain and national team vice-captain Farhanah Ruhaizat provide pace and creativity. Friday’s clash promises to be competitive, with both teams seeking a result to strengthen their position in the standings.

Aerion look to get back on winning track against Hougang
Friday, 20 February | 7.45pm | Jurong East Stadium

Still Aerion will be looking to regain momentum when they take on Hougang United this Friday at Jurong East Stadium. The last season’s runners-up have managed only one win from their opening three matches this season and the team will be eager to get back to winning ways.

Hougang, meanwhile, are still searching for their first victory of the campaign. The team has struggled for goals, scoring just once in three matches, while conceding 17 goals.

Albirex aim to continue strong start against BG Tampines
Saturday, 21 February | 7.45pm | Choa Chu Kang Stadium

League leaders Albirex Jurong, who have scored an astonishing 50 goals in just four matches this season, will look to extend their tally when they face BG Tampines on Saturday, 21 February at 7.45pm at Choa Chu Kang Stadium.

This has been particularly evident in their attacking Japanese trio of player-coach Kana Kitahara, Manami Fukuzawa, and Ruriko Takashima, the latter already on 16 goals this season and leading the league’s scoring charts, alongside local talents like Siti Wan Nabilah and Sitianiwati Rosielin, who have been consistent presences across the pitch.

BG Tampines, meanwhile, showed resilience in last week’s heavy 12-0 defeat to the Sailors, and demonstrated improved organisation and composure – qualities they will need to draw on as they face a formidable Albirex side.

Tanjong Pagar and Tiong Bahru look for early-season wins
Sunday, 22 February | 7.45pm | Choa Chu Kang Stadium

Tanjong Pagar United and Tiong Bahru meet in Matchweek 4 of the Women’s Premier League on Sunday at Choa Chu Kang Stadium. Tanjong Pagar have struggled for goals, scoring just once in their opening four matches, while Tiong Bahru have netted four times across their two games, as both sides look to turn early-season challenges into their first wins.

Past encounters between the two sides have been evenly contested, with each team claiming victories, and Sunday’s fixture promises another closely fought contest.
