Balestier look to build momentum against Hougang
Friday, 13 February | 7.45pm | Choa Chu Kang Stadium

Balestier Khalsa will be aiming to build on their first win of the season when they meet Hougang United on Friday, 13 February at Choa Chu Kang Stadium. After opening their campaign with defeats to Lion City Sailors (16-0) and Albirex Jurong (17-0), the Tigresses responded with a 4-3 victory over Tiong Bahru last week, a result that lifted them from the foot of the table and into sixth place.
Hougang, meanwhile, return to action after a bye in the last matchweek. They opened their campaign with a 12-0 defeat to Albirex before responding with a 1-1 draw against Tiong Bahru in Matchweek 2, with Grace Monago scoring the club’s first goal of the season to secure their first point.

Although Hougang held the advantage in last season’s meetings between the two sides, both teams now feature refreshed squads, setting up what is shaping up to be a closely contested encounter. Friday’s clash offers Balestier the chance to build on their recent momentum, while Hougang will be seeking their first win of the campaign.

Jaguars face stern test against league leaders Albirex
Saturday, 14 February | 7.30pm | Choa Chu Kang Stadium

Albirex Jurong will look to extend their strong start to the Women’s Premier League (WPL) season when they face Tanjong Pagar United on Saturday, 14 February at 7.30pm. The league leaders dominated this fixture in their meetings last season and will aim to carry that edge into this encounter.
Tanjong Pagar, meanwhile, have struggled for goals in the early rounds, scoring just once in three matches and sitting near the bottom of the table after three consecutive defeats.

Albirex’s attacking impetus has been driven by their Japanese trio of player-coach Kana Kitahara, Ruriko Takashima and Manami Fukuzawa, with Siti Wan Nabilah’s pace on the flanks providing an added dimension in the final third.
Tanjong Pagar enter the fixture following a difficult outing against the Sailors as they face an Albirex side intent on reinforcing their position at the top of the table.
