Magpie – SilverKris

Date:

Box 1

Restaurateur Kurt Wagner (Kafe Utu, Tamba) has opened another vibey dining spot, this time with New Zealander chef-owner Eliot Thomas. Perched right across Tiong Bahru Market, where the team sources fresh produce, Magpie serves what’s billed as borderless soul food – dishes inspired by global flavours both familiar yet unexpected. Highlights from the ever-changing menu include the delectable grilled grouper with aromatic Nonya butter and fresh herbs, and the succulent New Zealand lamb T-bone. Easy-going cocktails like the tequila-based Umami Tsunami or craft beers from Garage Project, paired with a grooving ska and reggae soundtrack from Chef Eliot’s vinyl collection set the mood for a vibrant evening.
