SINGAPORE, 3 JUNE 2025 – The Singapore Women’s National Team will return to international action this month with two matches against Hong Kong, China.
The first scheduled for Thursday, 12 June 2025, will be held behind closed doors. The teams will face off again three days later at Choa Chu Kang Stadium in a FIFA ‘A’ international. The friendly will kick off at 5pm with ticketing details to be announced soon.
Choa Chu Kang Stadium was selected as the venue due to ongoing renovation works at Bishan Stadium.
These fixtures will be the Lionesses’ first international matches of 2025. They last faced the 80th-ranked side in an international friendly in 2022, making this their first meeting in three years.
The matches will also serve as preparations for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Asian Cup 2026™ Qualifiers that will be held in Jordan from 23 June to 5 July 2025. Singapore has been drawn into Group A alongside the Islamic Republic of Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, and Bhutan.

Head Coach Karim Bencherifa shared his thoughts on the upcoming fixtures and the team’s preparation, while also calling on fans to lend their support during this crucial period.
“Hong Kong, China presents a strong and organised challenge, which is exactly the kind of test the team needs at this stage of preparation. Centralised training for the preliminary squad has begun, and I’ve been encouraged by the focus, discipline, and commitment that I’m already seeing from the players.
“These upcoming matches will be important for us to refine our tactical approach, assess player readiness in a competitive setting, and strengthen team cohesion. Whether the matches are held behind closed doors or open to the public, our objective remains the same — to perform at our best and deliver positive results,” he added.
“I’d like to encourage our supporters to come down and cheer for the Lionesses at Choa Chu Kang Stadium on 15 June. Singaporeans’ continued support means a great deal to the team as we prepare for a demanding year of international fixtures.”
