The recognition, awarded by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), underscores LEGOLAND Malaysia’s commitment to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for all guests.
A Milestone for Inclusive Tourism
With 1 in 100 children worldwide being autistic, families often struggle to find attractions that cater to their needs. Sensory overload, untrained staff, and limited accessibility information can make outings challenging. By achieving CAC status, LEGOLAND Malaysia joins a global movement to create more inclusive spaces for neurodivergent guests.
To earn this certification, LEGOLAND Malaysia’s guest-facing staff underwent specialized autism and sensory awareness training, ensuring they can support visitors with effective communication strategies and sensory-friendly approaches. The resort also underwent an on-site audit and will continue to receive ongoing education and support from IBCCES to maintain its standards.
Enhanced Accessibility for a More Enjoyable Visit
LEGOLAND Malaysia has taken additional steps to ensure families can plan their visits with confidence:
- New Accessibility Page – The LEGOLAND Malaysia website now features detailed sensory guides for each attraction, allowing guests to preview sensory elements before arrival.
- Sensory Guideboards – Installed across the theme park to help visitors navigate rides and attractions based on their comfort levels.
- Future Enhancements – More updates will roll out to further improve accessibility and guest experience.
