The National Day Rally is regarded as one of the most important political speeches of the year. It outlines the government’s key policy directions, social initiatives, and long-term plans.

PM Wong’s 2025 address will be his second since assuming the premiership. In his inaugural rally in 2024, he followed the same sequence of languages—Malay, Mandarin, then English.

During the 2024 speech, he announced several initiatives, including expanded parental leave, the SkillsFuture Jobseeker Support scheme for unemployed individuals, and housing enhancements for couples, singles, and seniors.

He also unveiled the Kallang Alive Masterplan and a major redevelopment of Singapore’s southern coast. The waterfront project aims to create a continuous 120km stretch from Pasir Panjang Terminal to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.
