This August, the Singapore Night Festival (SNF) 2025 returns with Island Nights — a spectacular edition that casts a luminous spotlight on Singapore’s identity as an island nation shaped by stories of connection, exchange, and belonging. From 22 August to 6 September, the Bras Basah.Bugis (BBB) precinct will come alive with immersive installations, dazzling light art, roving performances, and dynamic festival villages — all in celebration of the country’s 60th year of independence.

Dive Into Island Life: A Festival of Light and Legacy
Organised for the first time by HeritageSG, a subsidiary of the National Heritage Board, this 16th edition of SNF invites festival-goers to reflect on the ties that bind — from historic trade routes to vibrant cultural intersections — through reimagined public spaces, interactive art, and evocative performances.
Expect three weekends of nocturnal wonder across the BBB precinct, with festival favourites like projection mapping shows, Night Lights installations, live performances, and buzzing food & retail villages returning in full force.
Sky Castle at Cathay Green
Step into a sea of rainbow-lit inflatable arches with Sky Castle by Australian studio ENESS — a joyful, interactive experience that responds to your movement with waves of colour and sound.

Kampong Chill at Capitol Singapore
Escape the bustle at Kampong Chill, a serene, pavilion-style retreat created by artist duo Yok & Sheryo, offering hands-on workshops and a taste of kampong life.

Projection Mapping: History in a New Light
- MOSAIC at the National Museum of Singapore
French artist Jérémie Bellot transforms the museum’s façade with celestial maps and batik motifs, honouring 60 years of Singapore–France ties while exploring themes of navigation and island identity. - CHIJMES Illuminated by Local Talent
Four female artists — Adeline Kueh, HAFI, KangLi, and Tororo.aoi — present their projection mapping works, a culmination of SNF’s third Projection Mapping Masterclass, led by Malaysian new media collective Filamen.

Night Lights, Live Acts & Festival Villages
Discover six radiant Night Lights installations at hotspots like Armenian Street, Bugis+, Funan, and Raffles City, where art transforms the everyday into the extraordinary.
Catch roving performances including:
- Starlight Alchemy‘s LED light spectacles
- Our Songs, Our Stories – a community singalong featuring xinyao and campus folk tunes
- Ombak Potehi, a Hokkien puppet theatre reimagined by a Penang troupe
- Paper Monkey Theatre’s whimsical puppetry adaptation of a literary classic
Explore two vibrant Festival Villages:
- Paradise Island at Armenian Street
- Retro District at Bugis Street Art Lane (a new addition!)
Plus, don’t miss SMU Arts Fest: 2560 at SMU Campus Green, in partnership with Singapore Management University.
Conferences & Collaborations: Creative Exchange in the Spotlight

SNF 2025 will also host:
- The Listening Biennial – an international event exploring listening as art
- ALIGHT: A Southeast Asian Light Network Conference (21 August) – where regional light artists and creatives come together to share ideas and inspiration
These initiatives underscore SNF’s growing role as a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and cultural innovation.
National Day Activations: Celebrating Our Island
Kicking off from 1 August, SNF’s BBB National Day Activations will reimagine historic monuments and hidden corners into experiential zones themed Celebrating Our Island. This year spotlights Sungei Beras Bassa, once vital to the precinct’s nutmeg plantations, and welcomes new creative collaborations with LASALLE College of the Arts and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
