Ikoyi draws inspiration from West African cuisine, but don’t come here expecting traditional renditions of plantain fritters and peanut stews. At this bold restaurant along The Strand, London’s historic theatre district, chef Jeremy Chan marries seasonal produce from the British Isles with the spices of West Africa to create contemporary dishes layered with flavour. The tasting menu changes daily, but mainstays include Chan’s interpretation of jollof rice, which comes blanketed in a rich crab custard.
