HTC Vive Announced its new launch Extended Reality (XR) headset.the Vision Focus VIVE in Singapore, promising seamless integration between standalone XR and PCVR trials.
Powered by an in-house Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor, it seems to offer an impressive standalone experience with its 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB ROM. Lossless DisplayPort mode is also supported for PCVR, and is achieved by connecting the headset directly to a PC graphics card that promotes 5K visuals with a 120-degree field of view and a 90Hz refresh rate, with 120Hz support arriving in late 2024.
Using a DisplayPort connection, the improved bandwidth provided allows for crisp graphics and enhanced response times, ensuring that users can experience content as the developers intended without degrading image quality.
A common problem with most VR headsets comes from manually adjusting the user's interpupillary distance (IPD) during the initial setup process. To simplify this, the VIVE Focus Vision features automatic IPD adjustment technology with built-in eye tracking, making it even more convenient to share the headset across multiple users while still ensuring a comfortable viewing experience every time.
The headset features dual 16MP front-facing color cameras, providing full-color stereoscopic passthrough, with built-in depth and infrared sensors to provide enhanced tracking for a more immersive mixed reality experience, even in low-light conditions.
For optimal comfort, the headset features a battery placed at the back that not only powers the device for long sessions but also distributes the weight evenly across the user's head. Additionally, an improved cooling system prevents the device from overheating during extended use, and an additional replaceable battery ensures continuous use for up to 20 minutes even during replacement.
To take tracking to the next level, HTC VIVE also offers additional add-ons to bring virtual interactions to life via a separate device VIVE Ultimate Tracker and Face tracking. These add-ons allow for real-time transmission of physical expressions, featuring precise tracking of 26 body joints and up to 38 blended shapes across the lips, jaw, cheeks, chin, teeth and tongue to deliver the next generation of facial expressions and body movement for in-app avatars.
the Vision Focus VIVE Now available in Singapore for S$1,699. Starting in early December, buyers will receive an exclusive bundle that includes the VIVE Wired Streaming Kit (compatible with DisplayPort mode) and a selection of three popular VR gaming sets, along with a copy of Metro Awakening For PCVR.
