SINGAPORE, 22 DECEMBER 2024 — It was a bustling December Sunday at the Jalan Besar Stadium as Lions fans turned out in force to secure seats at the upcoming ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup first leg semi-final between Singapore and Vietnam this Thursday.
Some fans even queued overnight to ensure they got their hands on tickets , resulting in a complete sell-out of all available Home Section tickets by 6.20pm.
Heartened by the overwhelming show of support from Singaporeans, Lions captain Hariss Harun made a surprise visit to the stadium, personally purchasing tickets for the first 10 fans in line.
“It’s incredibly heartwarming to witness your dedication to the team, we draw energy for your voice in the stands, and on behalf of the team and the staff, I want to thank you for all your support,” said Hariss who addressed fans in the queue at Jalan Besar.
“This journey in the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup – is yours as much as it’s the team’s. Your support really makes a difference to us out on the pitch, and are excited to see you fill the stadium this Thursday.
“Thank you for your unwavering support, please come make a lot of noise!”
The home leg of the semi-final will take place at the 6,000-seater Jalan Besar Stadium, following a late schedule change that rendered the National Stadium unavailable.
In line with the Football Association of Singapore’s (FAS) commitment to prioritise local supporters, all tickets for the Home Sections were made available exclusively at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
Away tickets will only be available for purchase on Thursday, from 3pm to 30 minutes after kickoff of the match.
The FAS extends its gratitude to all fans for their overwhelming support. While high demand saw tickets sold out by 6.20pm, not all fans were able to secure their seat at the semi-final at the 6,000-seater Jalan Besar Stadium.
We would like to thank Singaporeans for their continued support of Hariss and our Lions.
