GE2025: More than 2.75 million Singaporeans eligible to vote as revised registers open for inspection

Date:

Box 1

More than 2.75 million Singaporeans will be eligible to vote in the upcoming General Election (GE2025), as the Elections Department (ELD) has certified the revised Registers of Electors.

Box 2

In a statement on 24 March, the ELD confirmed that 2,758,095 electors are listed in the registers, compiled based on electoral boundaries as of 1 February 2025.

The registers will be open for public inspection from 25 March, allowing voters to verify their details.

The certification follows the release of the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee (EBRC) report on 11 March, which recommended changes to electoral divisions.

Box 3

The ELD is in the process of preparing composite registers, which will reflect the new boundaries by transferring relevant polling districts to their updated electoral divisions.

Electors are advised to wait for the ELD’s announcement regarding the certification of these composite registers before checking their particulars.

However, those who wish to verify their details before the changes take effect may do so electronically.

Box 4

Voter details can be accessed through voter services on the ELD website or via the “My Profile” feature on the Singpass app.

For those without electronic access, verification can be done at community centres, ServiceSG Centres, or the ELD office by making an e-appointment through the ELD website or by calling 1800-225-5353.

Overseas Singaporeans may check their details at Singapore’s overseas missions designated as registration centres.

The number of eligible voters has increased from the 2,653,942 electors in the certified registers of April 2020, ahead of the General Election held in July that year.

In previous elections, certification of the registers occurred a few months before polling day, with the 2015 election held in September after the registers were certified in April, and the 2011 election conducted in May following certification in February.

With GE2025 required to be held by November 2025, the certification of the revised registers marks a key step in the electoral process.
