High above the sculpted rice terraces of Northern Vietnam, Garrya Mù Cang Chải has officially opened as the world’s largest bamboo-structured luxury retreat. Perched 1,000 metres above sea level in Yen Bai’s Mù Cang Chải district, an officially designated National Heritage Landscape, the new property marks Banyan Group’s first Garrya resort in Vietnam, offering guests an immersive blend of wellness, culture, and quiet luxury.

Designed in collaboration with LG Architects, the retreat draws inspiration from local heritage, with sweeping bamboo forms that reflect resilience and artistry, alongside brocade motifs that honour the H’Mong community whose traditions have shaped the region. Across 110 rooms, suites, and villas, “beauty in simplicity” defines the interiors, with valley-facing terraces, private wellness spaces, and open, naturally ventilated designs that connect guests to the mountain landscape.

Awakening in the Mountains
Central to the Garrya experience is Awakening in the Mountains, a multi-day wellness retreat crafted to restore balance through nature, mindfulness, and culture. Offered as a 4D3N package (from USD 1,015) or 6D5N package (from USD 1,821), the program blends morning breathwork, grounding rituals, and rejuvenation at the 8LEMENTS Spa’s Hydrotherapy Wellbeing Area, which features thermal pools, cold plunges, experiential showers, and infrared saunas. Guests can also take part in aqua yoga, spinal stretching, compassion meditation, and natural detox sessions, with serene sanctuaries for quiet reflection.

Nourishing Cuisine and Cultural Encounters
Wellness extends to the plate with locally sourced, plant-forward dishes at Refresh, the all-day dining venue, and fire-inspired culinary creations at Charcoal Grill. Beyond cuisine, the retreat integrates meaningful cultural exchanges, from brocade weaving workshops and herbal craft sessions to village treks and storytelling led by neighbouring H’Mong communities.

Gateway to Vietnam’s Highlands
Located just six hours from Hanoi, Garrya Mù Cang Chải places travellers at the heart of Vietnam’s cultural soul. Guests can explore iconic sites like Mam Xoi Hill, Khau Pha Pass, and the Mù Cang Chải Bamboo Forest while embracing a slower, more intentional way of travel.
