At the heart of the Descent S1 Buoy is Garmin’s SubWave sonar networking, which enables seamless communication with compatible Descent dive computers. Up to eight divers can be tracked and monitored simultaneously, with preset messages exchanged between divers and surface crew. For topside crews, the Descent S1 Buoy acts as a high-tech command center:
- Real-Time Diver Monitoring: Track each diver’s tank pressure, depth, and location with real-time updates. Alerts notify crews when a diver’s tank is low.
- Surface-to-Diver Messaging: Send important instructions or diver recalls underwater, even mid-dive.
- Diver Tracking: Maintain awareness of each diver’s position within a 100-meter range via the sonar network.

Weighing just 981g, the Descent S1 Buoy is compact, rugged, and rated IPX8 water-resistant up to 10 meters. It runs on a rechargeable lithium battery with up to 15 hours of usage, making it ideal for weekend dive adventures. With Wi-Fi connectivity up to 60 meters, it syncs effortlessly with the Garmin Dive app for added functionality and convenience.
