SINGAPORE, 6 JANUARY 2025 – After 13 years, BG Pathum United is set to make their return to Singapore’s premier cup competition, with their Group B 2024/25 Singapore Cup campaign kicking off against Tanjong Pagar United in February.
The Thai side, which first participated in the tournament in 2009 and made history as the first foreign team to win the competition in 2010 – and the nine other Singapore Premier League (SPL) clubs – discovered their group-stage fate following this morning’s official Singapore Cup draw at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
The 25th edition of the tourney sees the ten participating teams split into two groups of five. Joining BG Pathum and Tanjong Pagar in Group B are defending champions Lion City Sailors, Geylang International, and Balestier Khalsa.

The competition will kick off on 1 February 2025, with 2022 Singapore Cup champions Hougang United facing Albirex at Jurong East Stadium.
Group-stage matches will run until 30 March 2025, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the two-legged semi-final stage. The semi-finals will take place on 22 April and 6 May 2025, with the final scheduled for 31 May 2025.
