SINGAPORE, 31 OCTOBER 2024Another week brings another round of thrilling action as the Singapore Premier League returns for Matchweek 21. Hougang United face off against Tanjong Pagar United at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Friday night to start this week’s series of games, with both teams desperate for a morale-boosting three points after not collecting any victories in each of their last five league games.

The first of two Saturday evening matches sees Brunei DPMM travel to the Jurong East Stadium to face an in-form Albirex Niigata (S) side, who are looking to pick up their fifth consecutive win. Simultaneously, BG Tampines Rovers welcome Balestier Khalsa to the Jalan Besar Stadium, with the hosts determined to make up ground on league leaders Lion City Sailors. A win against the fourth-placed Tigers will temporarily take BG Tampines level on points with the Sailors at the top of the table.

Matchweek 21 wraps up with Geylang International taking on a revitalised Young Lions side on Sunday, who are buoyed by their recent 3-0 win against Brunei DPMM. The Eagles are hoping to get their league season back on track after suffering a damaging defeat in the Eastern Derby, but they face a stiff Young Lions challenge, who are unbeaten in their last four games.
