This year’s ceremony comes at the end of a landmark season, which saw the SPL transition to a European calendar for the first time. The evening will celebrate standout performances from the 29th edition of the Singapore Premier League and the SPL Under-21 League, with accolades to be presented across 13 award categories.

Among the headline nominees for the AIA SPL Player of the Year award is Japanese striker Tomoyuki Doi, who delivered a phenomenal season with Geylang International, scoring a record-breaking 44 goals. The 27-year-old not only tops the scoring charts but also set a new league record for the most goals in a single season. He will receive both the SPL Golden Boot and a special recognition award for his milestone achievement. Joining him on the Player of the Year shortlist are Lion City Sailors duo Bailey Wright and Shawal Anuar, both of whom were instrumental in their team’s title challenge.

The POLAR Mineral Water Coach of the Year award will be contested by the head coaches of this season’s top three teams — BG Tampines Rovers’ Gavin Lee, Sailors’ Aleksandar Rankovic, a first-time nominee, and Geylang International’s Noor Ali.

The AIA Young Player of the Year category features familiar talent and fresh faces. Last year’s winner, Seia Kunori, is back in the running—this time as a BG Tampines Rovers player—having clinched the award in 2023 while playing for Albirex Niigata (S). He is joined by Hougang United’s Farhan Zulkifli and first-time nominee Albirex’s Shingo Nakano.

In goal, the SPL Golden Glove award will go to BG Tampines Rovers’ Syazwan Buhari, who kept 11 clean sheets across the campaign.

The Awards Night will also spotlight the work of match officials. Last year’s SELECT Assistant Referee of the Year, Ronnie Koh Min Kiat, has been nominated once again and is joined by Andy Tan Mint Land and Abdul Hanan. In the SELECT Referee of the Year category, Ahmad A’Qashah returns as a nominee, alongside Jansen Foo and Clarence Leow.

Other awards that highlight the wider football ecosystem include the SELECT Goal of the Year, the Singapore Pools Fair Play Award, the AIA SPL Team of the Year, as well as the SPL Under-21 league, Story of the Year, Photo of the Year—recognising creative excellence and the moments that captured the season’s spirit.

A distinguished judging panel—comprising the head coaches and captains from the nine SPL clubs—played a key role in selecting the nominees and eventual winners. For the media awards, a panel of public relations experts, academics, media professionals, and seasoned photographers oversaw the evaluation process for the Story and Photo of the Year, respectively.

This year’s ceremony will honour individuals who have made a lasting impact on Singapore football. Former national players Adam Swandi and Khairul Amri will be recognised for their outstanding careers following their recent retirements, while Lion City Sailors FC will be commended for their impressive achievement as runners-up in the 2024/25 AFC Champions League Two.
