Upon arrival, SCDF firefighters found that the fire had engulfed the interior of the shophouse and was beginning to spread to the adjacent units.

In response, firefighters immediately deployed two water jets to the exterior of the building, preventing the fire from spreading further.

A third water jet was used to combat the flames inside the shophouse.
