SINGAPORE: A traffic accident at Holland Village on 26 March 2025 resulted in one person’s death.
Authorities confirmed the incident occurred early in the morning along Holland Avenue.
A Facebook post on 26 March showed a photo of the scene with at least three police cars and a blue tent in the middle of the road.
The picture indicated heavy traffic congestion in the area.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed to Lianhe Zaobao that it received a report of an accident at around 6:50 am.
Upon arrival, paramedics pronounced one person dead at the scene.
ACS International School, located near Holland Avenue, issued a Facebook update advising students and parents to avoid driving through the centre of Holland Village due to the ongoing incident.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the cause of the accident or the identity of the deceased. Investigations are ongoing.
Traffic Police: 142 killed in accidents as Singapore’s traffic deaths hit five-year high in 2024
The number of traffic-related deaths and injuries in Singapore reached a five-year high in 2024, with speeding identified as a key contributor, the Traffic Police (TP) reported on 21 February.
A total of 142 people lost their lives in accidents in 2024, an increase from 136 deaths in 2023.
The number of injuries also rose from 8,941 in 2023 to 9,302 in 2024.
