According to The Star, the incident occurred on the afternoon of Nov 12. The homeowner recounted that at around 4 p.m., her 15-year-old daughter had just returned from school when she noticed a crack in the bathroom ceiling. The sight made her too afraid to use the bathroom.

“I was in a meeting when my daughter sent me a photo of the collapsed ceiling,” the woman said. “When I got home and checked, I saw something that looked like batik fabric sticking out of the hole. At first, I thought it was just fabric, but after my daughter zoomed in with her phone camera, we realised it was actually the body of a snake.”

She immediately contacted the Malaysian Civil Defence Force. When personnel arrived and attempted to extract the animal, the massive python suddenly dropped to the floor, stunning everyone present.

“I initially thought it was just an ordinary snake, but I was surprised to see how big it was,” she said. “I exclaimed as soon as I saw it, ‘Isn’t that an anaconda?!’”

The homeowner said her family was grateful they discovered the reptile before it made its way fully into the house. She believes the python may have entered through a custard apple tree behind the home, recalling that a flowerpot had been knocked over two days earlier.

“This is the first time a snake has entered the house. There is a swamp behind our house, so it may have come from there,” she added. “The bathroom floor and carpet had a strong fishy smell, and I cleaned them several times afterward.”

The incident has left her and her two children traumatised. Since then, they have been taking extra precautions each time they use the bathroom.
