Eleven men have been charged with rioting armed with deadly weapons after a violent fight broke out at a Toa Payoh coffee shop.
The police said on 25 August, 2025, that the incident took place a day earlier at Block 10B, Lorong 7 Toa Payoh. Early investigations found that the fight involved several individuals, some of whom were armed.
A 21-year-old victim sustained stab wounds on his arm, while a 30-year-old man was stabbed in the back. Both received outpatient treatment at a hospital.
Police arrested 13 suspects in total, aged between 21 and 34, including one woman. A cleaver, believed to have been used in the fight, was seized. The 22-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man are assisting police with investigations.
Four men, aged between 21 and 33, will be charged on 26 August. Another seven men, aged between 23 and 34, will be charged the following day.
According to police, the suspects were identified with the help of CCTV and police camera footage. Video footage circulated on the Telegram channel SG Secret Channel showed more than 10 people involved in the confrontation.
In the footage, three people were seen lifting a chair and two tables before smashing them to the ground, while another man struck a victim with an unidentified object.
At least eight individuals were later seen running across the road toward a Housing Board block before disappearing from sight.
The fight is believed to have started following a dispute that escalated into violence. Investigators are continuing to probe the circumstances that led to the brawl.
If convicted of rioting while armed with a deadly weapon, the men face up to 10 years in jail and caning.
