Nine Years Theatre (NYT) is making waves with its newest Mandarin children’s production, Phinny & Wally: Echoes Of Home. Running from 22 to 31 August 2025 at the Drama Centre Black Box, this heartwarming sequel is designed for young audiences aged 5 to 8, combining imaginative storytelling, interactive elements, and a deeper message about home, friendship, and environmental awareness.
Following the success of Phinny & Wally in 2024, this standalone sequel sees the lovable dolphin and whale duo embark on a brand-new underwater journey. They encounter Arlo, a timid bowhead whale who’s lost and searching for his family. As the trio travels through icy waters and navigates dangers from the deep, they discover that home isn’t just a place—it’s where safety, love, and belonging reside.
With Mandarin language at its core, the production aims to cultivate a love for the arts and language in young children.
The experience begins even before the curtain rises—families are welcomed into an interactive pre-show activity area that introduces ocean conservation themes through fun, hands-on games and displays.
