Opening to an impressive US$1.3 million in Singapore, Avatar: Fire and Ash delivered the biggest Hollywood opening of the year locally, further cementing Disney’s box office dominance across the region. The film’s strong debut follows a stellar year for the studio, led by hits such as Zootopia 2, The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Thunderbolts*, all among Disney’s top-performing titles in Singapore.

Dash to Cart

On the global stage, Disney has crossed an extraordinary US$5 billion in box office revenue in 2025, becoming the first, and only, studio to reach this milestone this year. It also marks Disney’s third time surpassing the US$5 billion mark since 2018, a feat no other studio has achieved even once in the same period.

A major driver of this success is Zootopia 2, which delivered the highest global debut of 2025, the fourth-largest global opening of all time, and the biggest animated launch in Disney history. In Singapore, the animated sequel also secured the number one box office spot across all films during its opening weekend.

To build anticipation for Avatar: Fire and Ash, Disney rolled out immersive marketing activations across Singapore. Fans experienced Pandora up close through a pop-up photo experience at Singapore Comic Con, a dramatic mall takeover at Bugis Junction featuring fog effects, dynamic soundscapes and burning “A” visuals, as well as MRT station takeovers with large-format showtime displays.

An immersive booth at Plaza Singapura invited visitors to explore Pandora’s lush environments and the volcanic Ash Village, view the trailer in virtual reality, and collect exclusive merchandise, turning the film’s release into a city-wide cinematic event.
