COE premiums rise across most categories, Cat B hits highest price since December 2023

SINGAPORE: Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums in Singapore mostly ended higher in the latest bidding exercise on 6 August 2025.

For Category A, covering smaller cars, premiums rose to S$102,009 from S$101,102 in the previous round.

Category B, for larger cars, saw a sharper increase of 3.7 per cent, reaching S$123,498. This marked the highest level in that category since December 2023.

The Open Category, typically used for large cars, climbed from S$120,000 to S$122,334.

Box 3

Premiums for commercial vehicles, including goods vehicles and buses, increased to S$70,001, up from S$68,600.

Motorcycle premiums were the only category to decline, dropping to S$9,189 from S$9,511.

A total of 4,592 bids were submitted against a quota of 3,141 available COEs.

This was the first bidding exercise under the new August to October quota, which has risen by 2.6 per cent from the previous quarter.

The total number of COEs available for the three-month period stands at 18,701, up from 18,232 between May and July.

Compared to the same period in 2024, the COE quota has increased by over 22 per cent.
