CapitaLand is celebrating the Year of the Snake in grand style with Weaving Prosperity and Joyous Abundance at CapitaLand Malls, a vibrant Lunar New Year showcase running from 1 January to 12 February 2025 across 17 malls. Highlights include a spectacular 15-metre Fortune Snake art installation, festive décor, an interactive AR experience, exclusive rewards, and limited-edition treats for all to enjoy.
The Fortune Snake: Art Meets Prosperity

The centrepiece of this celebration is the Fortune Snake, a 15-metre art installation crafted from intricately designed red packets, in collaboration with award-winning Chinese illustrator Tang Yiqi (汤一祺). Featuring Tang’s signature blend of surrealism and vibrant animal motifs, the installation is a breathtaking mix of tradition and modernity.
With elements like pineapples (luck), peonies (love), and Ruyi knots (happiness), the red packets represent blessings of fortune and abundance. Designed in the shape of the auspicious number “8” and the infinity symbol, the installation captures the spirit of endless prosperity.
Complementing the hanging art piece is an interactive free-standing installation, perfect for photo opportunities and augmented reality (AR) exploration. Shoppers can immerse themselves in Tang Yiqi’s motifs and enjoy a playful, modern twist on Lunar New Year traditions.
Interactive AR, Digital Red Packets, and More
Experience the Fortune Snake in AR via WebAR technology, where shoppers can explore Tang’s intricate designs, send personalised AI-powered New Year cards, and unlock rewards worth up to 10 million STAR$.
This Lunar New Year, CapitaLand is also introducing digital red packets via the CapitaStar app. With gifting amounts ranging from S$10 to S$500, these eco-friendly e-packets feature Tang’s designs, blending art and convenience for a greener celebration.
