Sydney’s oceanfront rock pools are justifiably famous, but venture just a kilometre south of the popular Bondi Icebergs, to seek serenity at Bronte Baths. Opened in 1887, the sheltered natural 38m lap pool is a great spot for idyllic saltwater swims. It’s especially enticing at sunrise, when dawn colours make it particularly picturesque. Stay for the nearby beach, grassy park and quintessentially Aussie cafés.
